Youth Ministry


New Hope Missionary Baptist Church has a very active Youth Ministry that seeks to serve the Lord. The Youth Ministry is blessed to have a group of individuals dedicated to helping our children grow, mature and serve the Lord.
There are many opportunities for the youth to be involved at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. A list of the activities that are available for which our Youth may participate are as follows:

Just Lead
Youth Choir
Revelation Dance Team
Boys to Men
Youth Usher Board

A brief description of each organization is listed below.

Just Lead

I. Introduction
The Just Lead ministry utilizes spiritual, academic, health, and relational components to teach students to become servant-leaders where they live. The Just Lead ministry system provides a supportive environment for the development of leadership skills. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that young people will be transformed and empowered to become just leaders bringing renewal to Knoxville’s communities.

II. Theme
They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have devastated for generations. Isaiah 61:4 NIV

III. Purpose
The purpose of the Just Lead Ministry is to help equip urban children and youth to be leaders who love Jesus Christ and others, maintain good health, and use their knowledge, skills, and gifts to help renew their neighborhoods.

IV. Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives of the Just Lead Ministry are as follows:
Implement academic, enrichment, and recreational activities
Meet with school personnel to discuss grades and behavior of our youth
Assist in ensuring that every activity with the youth is meaningful, fun, and safe
Teach children about the Lord and the importance of serving Him
Provide one on one mentoring


Youth Choir

I. Introduction

The Youth Choir is a ministry of music that will reach Youth ages 4-18, and will allow youth to sing uplifting praises to the Lord. This ministry will allow the youth to learn the proper procedures of how to conduct meetings in a spiritual and loving way. Through these things, it will help enhance their spiritual growth and the way that they praise the Lord.

Theme
I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13)

III. Purpose
The purpose of the Youth Choir is to teach youth how to sing praises unto our Heavenly Father, which is the reason why we sing.

IV. Goals and Objectives
The Youth Choir will partner with the Musicians, Core Members, and Youth Director to achieve the following goals and objectives:

To teach songs to praise the Lord;
Sing the songs that are taught, not just for the Choir, but to also praise the Lord throughout their daily lives; and To develop an understanding of an organization and the proper procedures to follow in a meeting.



Revelation Dance Team

I. Introduction
The Revelation Dance Team is for youth ages 10 – 19. The mission of the Dance Team is to glorify God through dance and to spread the good news of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

II. Theme
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant. Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:1-3


III. Purpose
The purpose of the Revelation Dance Team is to demonstrate the Power of Praise through dance. No one is too young or too old to praise the Lord. The Mission of the Dance Team is to glorify God through dance.

IV. Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives of the Revelation Dance Team are demonstrate to young people that praising God is nothing of which to be ashamed and to others the joy that we feel in praising Him in that way.

Boys to Men

I. Introduction
The “Boys To Men” Ministry is a mentoring program for boys, ages 13-20, who have the desire to receive direction in their spiritual growth and personal development by developing character, respect, responsibility, and leadership for themselves, toward others, and their community.

II. Theme

The purpose of the Boys To Men Ministry is to develop godly a relationship with young men of the church and encourage a closer relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

IV. Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives of the Boys to Men Ministry are as follows:
Teach young men to be more like Christ.
Provide direction of young men in their spiritual growth and personal development by developing character, respect, responsibility, and leadership for themselves, toward others, and their community.
Teach boys to Become A Vessel That is willing to used by GOD.


Youth Ushers

I. Introduction
The Youth Ushers are for children ages 8-18 years old who are members of the church. The youth ushers serve on the fourth Sunday of each month.
