Music Ministry

The Music Ministry is driven to enhance the praise and worship services of which the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church is involved. The Music Ministry consists of Choir No. I, Voices of Praise, Male Chorus, Youth Choir, and Mass Choir.

Theme
“Let the words of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him”. Colossians 3:16-17. The foundation of our Music Ministry is synonymous with the Mission Statement for New Hope in that both require teaching. To build an effective music ministry, we are to first teach our choir members the music and how to sing to the glory of God.

Purpose
The purpose of the Music Ministry is to ensure Spiritual growth and development of the music department; make sure that music of any worship service is appropriate, with all

things to be done in a melodious blend; teaching Ministry members to carry out this purpose regardless of their age; and edify the body and focus their hearts and minds on praise and worship of our God.

Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives of the Music Ministry are as follows:

To improve and learn on one or more new songs each month
To train individual voices in Voice Lessons
To develop and improve each choir’s style of music

Progress will be measured by rendering new song selections and new voice leaders; seeing an increase in choir membership; and congregation and choir being more familiar and confident when singing hymns of the month.

Core Group Members
The Core members will work closely with each choir or worship team as needs are identified for training and various tasks; work with the Pastor and other groups to coordinate Ministry activities to prevent scheduling conflicts; and developing outreach and evangelism; and be responsible and ensure all assignments are carried out according to plan.

Requirements for joining a Choir

Believing and confessing with thy mouth that the Lord Jesus Christ is Lord and that God hath raised him from the dead... Salvation and Water Baptistism.
Believing in the commandments of God and being a Tithing member of the Church.
Learning the Word of God through a Teaching Service.
