ABOUT OUR MARRIAGE MINISTRY:

The Married Couples Ministry is a ministry that allows married couples to pray, study, and fellowship, according to the Bible in the Name of Jesus.

Our main purpose is to develop the marriage relationship according to the Scripture. Additionally, our purpose is to reach out to saved and unsaved individuals by sharing/witnessing the message of the free Gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ. Our goals and objectives are:

  1. To reach out to married couples within the New Hope family as well as outside New Hope for the purpose of strengthening and preserving the marriage bond
  2. To address the daily concerns of married life, with our foundation being the Word of God
  3. To offer hope and encouragement by sharing personal testimonies

ABOUT OUR MEN'S MINISTRY:

In this ministry we seek to be men devoted to the Glory of God. It is by grace and through faith in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior that we have our being. Thus we are motivated and guided by the Holy Spirit to glorify our God. Likewise, we are obligated to spread the good news of Salvation to the unsaved as well as those who profess to be saved. We will continually teach the saved of our duty of righteousness, and encourage all to live the new life we now have in Christ Jesus. We would like to partner with our pastor, all clergy, deacons, and trustees to carry out the duties expected of men within the church; to aid all ministries when called upon; to encourage our young men towards godliness; and to give of our time and talents to our community.

It is our hearts' desire to achieve the following goals and objectives:

  1. To help men of all ages deal with life's circumstances
  2. To share God's Plan of Salvation
  3. To make disciples
  4. To become devoted men of God
  5. To be an active body in New Hope Missionary Baptist Church
  6. To train men to be leaders in our church and community
  7. To increase fellowship among the brethren, "Let brotherly love continue"
  8. To establish a Men's Bible Study

The ministry progress will be measured by conducting evaluations, by our growth and development, by praise reports, and by way of community outreach. For more information on our Men Ministry, contact Deacon Daryl Thomas.

ABOUT OUR SINGLE'S MINISTRY:

IThe Singles Ministry is to obey the instructions God has set for us in His Word - the Bible. The ministry is for ages 26 and above, no matter how or why the person is single. The purpose of the Singles Ministry is to reach the level of wholeness that God has planned for our lives and to have confidence and surety in all aspects of our lives. Our goal is to be a group that comes together in fellowship, prayer and Bible Study.

The areas we want to focus on first are Salvation, Discipleship and Fellowship. Salvation - Our number one priority is to present the plan of salvation. We will initially begin with New Hope individuals. The core group wants to present salvation simply and clearly through the Word of God. Discipleship - As Christians, we know that once we are saved our work is not over, but just beginning. The core group wants the singles to be equipped to witness to the world about Jesus Christ. Fellowship - The Core Group would like for the singles to meet each month. These meetings, as discussed earlier, will be for prayer, Bible Study and for fun. It is our prayer that we can come together as a group for fun and fellowship.

ABOUT OUR MUSIC MINISTRY:

The Music Ministry is driven to enhance the praise and worship services of which the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church is involved. The Music Ministry consists of Choir No. I, Voices of Praise, Male Chorus, Youth Choir, and Mass Choir.

“Let the words of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him”. Colossians 3:16-17. The foundation of our Music Ministry is synonymous with the Mission Statement for New Hope in that both require teaching. To build an effective music ministry, we are to first teach our choir members the music and how to sing to the glory of God.

ABOUT OUR AUDIO/VISUAL MINISTRY:

The Audiovisual Ministry is to help support and enhance spiritual growth by recording and disseminating the preaching and teaching of God’s as it is presented at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 Knoxville, Tennessee 37917. The foundation of our Ministry is to help spread the word through the used of CDs and DVDs for those sick and shut in, the lost or in need of spiritual uplifting. Services can be seen on a local television station and on local radio. (For information about the stations and time please call the church at 865-522-1267.) Also, CDs and DVDs may be obtained from the church for home use.

ABOUT OUR PRISON MINISTRY:

We believe the answer to transforming our culture comes from the inside out and from the bottom up. We believe the core cause of the problems we face today is a spiritual one; therefore, the only way to address them is spiritually. And that means the proclamation and application of biblical principles to the four areas of life - the individual, the family, the church, and the community. We have tried a political, social, economic, and even a religious agenda. It's time for a kingdom agenda.

We believe that when each biblical sphere of life functions properly, the net result is evangelism, discipleship, and community impact. As people learn how to govern themselves under God, they then transform the institutions of family, church, and government from a biblically based kingdom perspective.

ABOUT OUR MISSION MINISTRY:

“ To love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first greatest commandment, and the second is like it: Love your neighbor like yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39) The Mission Ministry of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church represents saints of God, people of hope and compassion. We are to witness for Christ, and walk in the spirit. We do this by believing that God the Holy Spirit is with us, having been sent by God the Son into our hearts. We submit our lives to God the Father and depend on the Spirit to lead us to live Godly lives. Our desire is to help relieve temporal needs of individuals, families, and the community as we grow spiritually.

Theme:

Walking in the Spirit is the theme for the Missions Ministry. Galatiians 5:22 states, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, and self-control.” The fruits of the spirit are a wholesome mark of God.
